Bravo reality star Colin Dias denies murder-for-hire plot against wife

Married to Medicine: Los Angeles’ Colin Dias is denying any involvement in a murder-for-hire plot aimed at his ex-wife Lia Jones.

Lawyer Robert Eisfelder, who is representing Dias, told TMZ in a statement on Wednesday that Jones made a series of false claims in a court filing Monday requesting a domestic violence restraining order against Dias.

In her filing, Jones told the court that a neighbor had informed her that Dias had asked ‘what would it cost to get rid of’ her in a grisly discussion that involved talk about weapons, the outlet reported.

Jones said in her court filing that Dias had been ‘actively looking and recruiting’ for a person to kill her.

Eisfelder denied all of the allegations against his client, the outlet reported, noting that Dias had been granted sole legal and physical custody of the former couple’s two children, who are both minors.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Bravo for further comment on the story.

‘Dr. Dias has raised the two minor children essentially on his own and, despite Ms. Jones’ continuing conduct as described in the record, by virtue of Dr. Dias excellent parenting, the children are thriving,’ Eisfelder told the Daily Mail on Wednesday.

Jones is looking to have the current custodial orders modified later this month, as the former couple have a July 28 court hearing on the subject.

Dias, in a declaration filed this past April 21 ahead of the custodial hearing, made allegations of domestic violence against Jones spread across multiple years, Eisfelder told the Daily Mail.

Dias said that Jones ᴀssaulted him by punching his stomach with a closed fist on May 19, 2021 during a time he had been on the mend after a recent surgery.

He claimed Jones told him at the time, ‘I wish you would die.’

Dias in the declaration also cited a November 9, 2021 exchange claiming Jones had ᴀssaulted him with both of their children present, saying she would ‘put two bullets’ in his head. This occurred three days after Dias said Jones attacked him in front of the children.

In the declaration, Dias said he obtained a restraining order against Jones on November 10, 2021.

Dias said that he obtained a criminal protective order against Jones on April 19, 2022, on the ground of domestic violence. This led to the arrest of Jones four months later in connection with a purported violation of it.

Eisfelder told TMZ that Jones had launched multiple attempts to revise the custody order in regard to the two children, none of which were authorized by the court.

Jones told the outlet in a statement, ‘What I and my family have gone through since being made aware of the very serious situation of my life and safety being compromised has been extremely challenging and caused so much distress.

‘I am confident that once the courts review the totality of texts, witnesses statements and first hand accounts there will be sufficient evidence that can’t be refuted.’

They included therapy, a domestic violence course that spanned 52 weeks, and completion of anger management and parenting courses.
