Brandy, 47, and lookalike daughter Sy’rai, 24, hit red carpet together

Brandy was supported by her lookalike daughter Sy’rai on Tuesday evening at the Los Angeles premiere of Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.

The 47-year-old singer-actress, who recently sparked concern from fans, and her mini-me, 24, looked more like sisters than mother-daughter as they hit the red carpet.

They coordinated in white ensembles, with the former Moesha star donning a Jovana Louis cape dress styled by Ashley Sean Thomas.

For her part, Sy’rai modeled a full-length, low-cut lace House of CB dress with bolero-style sleeves. 

She rounded out the glamorous look with open-toe white heels that displayed her white pedicure.

While Brandy opted for straight, icy-platinum long locks with a center part, Sy’rai contrasted her with a jet-black pixie cut.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Brandy for comment but has yet to hear back. 

The new movie will premiere on Disney Channel on July 16 and sees Brandy reprise her role as Cinderella.

She originally embodied the character in the 1997 TV film, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which saw Whitney Houston play her fairy godmother.

The star slipped back into the role for Descendants: The Rise of Red in 2024.

‘I’m here at the Descendants premiere. This is my second one ’cause this is my mom’s second time being in this franchise,’ Sy’rai announced in a chat with Fashion Bomb Daily.

‘I’m so happy I’m here and I get to support her, so yeah, we’re having fun,’ the proud daughter gushed. 

Rita Ora stars alongside Brandy in the new film, playing Queen of Hearts of Wonderland.

In an Instagram caption shared on Wednesday, the Full Moon hitmaker said, ‘Some crowns become even more beautiful when they are shared.

‘What an honor it has been to stand beside the magnificent @RitaOra as two queens from worlds that remind us that true royalty is never about standing above one another… it’s about lifting one another higher.

‘Your beauty, your talent, your fearless spirit, and your light make you every bit the queen you portray. I would gladly share a crown with you forevermore. It has been such a joy creating this magic together.’

Brandy, whose brother is Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Ray-J, also gave a special nod to Disney.

She wrote, ‘To Disney…thank you for the rare and beautiful gift of allowing me to return to Queen Cinderella…a character I first had the privilege of portraying at sixteen years old. 

‘To revisit her now, with the wisdom, graтιтude, and life I’ve lived since then, has been nothing short of full circle.’

She also made sure to pay homage to Houston, who died in 2012 at age 48.

‘I cannot celebrate this moment without honoring our beloved Whitney Houston. What Whitney and [producer] Debra Martin Chase accomplished with Cinderella in #97 changed storytelling forever. 

‘They proved that fairy tales belong to everyone. They opened the door to a kingdom where diversity wasn’t an exception…it was the magic itself.

‘Because they dared to imagine a rainbow kingdom, Descendants: Wicked Wonderland continues that legacy with a cast that reflects the beauty of the world we all share.’
